Little Learners Preschool is here for parents who want to know their child will gain the knowledge, confidence, and social skills needed to be successful as they start school. Ms. Katie has taught students from preschool to college and she loves to see her little ones learning! We are excited to be able to offer an exceptional alternative to local families. What You Can Expect
Reading & Writing
Students will have the chance to be read LOTS of books during the year connected to our learning. Students will learn proper pencil grip and practice beginning handwriting skills with the alphabet and their name. Handwriting is a foundational skill.
Letters & Sounds
Students will gain foundational reading and writing skills as they master letter recognition and beginning phonemic awareness skills. Learning the letters and sounds doesn’t have to be boring and we will have a lot of fun along the way.
Counting & Math
Students will have varied experiences using concrete objects as they build one-to-one correspondence with basic counting. Learning to create patterns and become familiar with basic geometric shapes is also part of the basic math skills we explore.
Theme-based
Students will have the opportunity to make strong connections to the world around them as we explore a wide range of themes during the year. Research shows that theme-based learning allows students to deepen their understanding.
Arts & Crafts
Students will have frequent opportunities to put their creativity to work! Arts and crafts are also a great way to practice fine motor skills that will become more and more important. Why not have fun and use our imagination at the same time?
Dramatic Play
Students learn to interact with others and connect with the world around them in meaningful ways through play. At Little Learners Preschool, student play will take students beyond toys. Their imagination and our classroom will be a magical combination.
Sensory Bins
Students will be able to explore a range of sensory experiences as various sensory bins are utilized throughout all of the different themes we will dive into during the year. Hands-on, tactile sensory play is sure to engage each child’s senses.
Music & Songs
Students do not have to be musicians to find joy and value in music. We will use songs and music to help us remember and to learn to express ourselves. Learning through music and sharing it with each other and our families makes it even more fun!
Science & Curiosity
Students will get a variety of opportunities during the year to experience and experiment with the wonders of nature, space, and basic science topics. Learning to notice & wonder is what makes learning come to life. Watch your child’s curiosity come to life.
Social Skills
Students at Little Learners will know that being our best self and treating others with kindness and respect is the way to live. We can all be friends! Learning to interact appropriately and work well with others is essential to success in school and in life.
